How I can remove minor scratches and make my uke become glossy again? What kind of products and techniques are safe for that?

Scratches are cool! Jakes uke has scratches! All the best players have them. Ok, I'll answer the question:
At Wal-mart or maybe your hardware store you should find Turtle Wax Premium Grade Rubbing Compound (says clear-coat safe). With some elbow grease this will really gloss up your finish. NOTE: This will be fine on any gloss Asian import but may not be for a higher end uke. There are a number of guitar polishes you can use. We're spoiled with buffers. You could do something similar though with the little hand held buffers used for polishing cars. Just be careful and consult with us if you are not sure if your finish can handle this type of rubbing compound. Maybe others have found success with a certain product. Feel free to share.
