Mary Rosenkranz — Jan 29, 2015 12:15PM HST

Just wanted to know how to repair small hairline cracks on a ukulele? I have a couple of cracks on my ukes. I dont think it makes a difference in the sound or performance, not really sure. Maybe I just done notice the difference. Your Kokua will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo.

The way that we do it is using a small diamond shaped cleat or patch and glue it underneath the crack with the wood grain running perpendicular to the crack. Finding the right clamps can be tricky but there are alternatives like magnets. Stewart MacDonald has some repair magnets that work great for odd spots.
