HMS Listening Booth Recording Equipment?

Uke Dave — Jan 28, 2015 06:30PM HST

Andrew, for fellow audio recording enthusiasts: could you please fill us in on what type of equipment/setup you are currently using to get the quality of samples seen recently in the HMS Listening Booth & Free Resource videos? Aloha

Sure! I currently use a Schoeps CMC6 MK21 stereo pair through an A Designs Pacifica preamp into Logic. Then I bounce down uncompressed into final cut pro x which syncs it automatically to video. There are many variations I've tried to capture the most "true" sound but this is what I currently do. There are many great ways to record that an ukulele, but I am just approaching it with the goal of transparency.

I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. They sound great. I love listening to the ukes, and it makes it very easy to compare the sounds, since I can't visit your shop.
