Suggestions for tutorials

Dear HMS Team,
Thanks so much for making the most of the uke-hobby! Please keep doing that. I visit your website every day. I play for 1 year now, first on the cheapest super market uke and on your Koaloha tenor for the last 5 months. I am now a starter in music playing 6 advanced songs, thanks to Corey and Aaron’s Tutorials. I even play “The Mystery”, “Let’s dance” and “While my Guitar.. ”. Your selection and way of playing somehow result in the coolest tunes to learn.

In one of your movies you asked for suggestions for new tutorials. I have a few! On the web are very few lessons of Django Reinhardt style on Uke. This music however is filled with energy. Maybe one of you guys can translate it from guitar to uke? Here are some cool examples of Django tunes (that will need to be simplified for us earthlings off course) :

- Dark eyes (youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgqWTZ3EFUE&feature=related )
- Sweet Geogia Brown ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qxTyO8sWpQ )
- Wasso’s Waltz ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRzL7BPw884 )
- I’ll see you in my dreams ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajCMuoEPf1I )

Even if it’s not possible to make tutorials out of these, please send these super cool music links to Corey just to enjoy, as I enjoy so much of his movies every day.

More suggestions: On your site are several duets of guitar and uke playing together. Maybe it’s possible teaching how to play together with a guitar player. Who is playing what and how and when etc.?

Corey & Thobias - Freight train

I would love a tutorial on how to tune a uke without an electronic tuner. Are there any tips? I think of it like learning to build a fire with sticks, one day if just might save your life!

Good thread!

(I was just coming here to make a suggestion about a tutorial)

I really liked Corey's version of "Can't help falling in love". A tutorial on that would be nice! Actually, even sheet music would be really helpful!

HI
just to add my further expectation to GERT-JAN's list, I would say that I'm also addict of Corey or Aaron videos... sometimes I'm a bit frustrated because of lack of title for tune sometimes played during demos.
When it's possible, may I ask you to mention the tune tittle played and in that way we can have one more chance to look for the tab on the net.
Long life to HMS and the Marvellous way you use to transfer your passion to us !
Best regards,

Hey Remy, I'll work on that but there is around 1500 demo videos up already, so it will be something I have to start on new ones.
