Hi, I noticed that some ukuleles are customized with different length necks. I was wondering if this affects the sound of the instrument, or is more just to accommodate people with larger hands/wider reach. Thanks -Ryan

It does make a difference in the sound. A longer scale length means the string will be tighter and the clarity, attack, sustain, and projection can improve while it can lose some of the "warmth" of the regular scale, typically.
