MiSi vs. RMC on Blackbird Tenor

The two options are so closely-priced. There's lots of praise for the MiSi (fast-charging battery, plug & play, good sound), but I can't find much on the RMC. I'm curious:
1) Can the RMC-equipped Blackbird be plugged directly into an amp in the same way as the MiSi-equipped one? Would it perform similarly without the separate Poly-Drive preamp?
2) Does HMS staff like one over the other? I have no intentions of doing any studio-recording. While I could consider the Poly-Drive preamp in the future, I'm thinking of a home setup with an uke and an amp until I get better.

The RMC pickup comes with an 8 pin to quarter inch adapter and even though it is passive it has a much higher output from the Misi as well as a more full mid range. That's without the preamp. With the preamp it is the most natural sounding pickup with a big wonderful tone. I actually have at home with the RMC pickup. It's an awesome choice when plugging in.
